DIY Project with Minwax Featured in Country Living Magazine
The Project Cottage is having a very busy summer! In addition to running our thriving online retail business (thanks to all our fabulous and loyal customers!) and ongoing licensing negotiations for our design collections, I was asked to do a DIY Project for Minwax, which will be featured in the September issue of Country Living Magazine. Minwax chose me and three other artisans to do DIY projects, using Minwax products, and since I LOVE Minwax products I didn’t hesitate to say yes.
Working closely with the magazine staff and Minwax was a great experience. I was asked to use Minwax water-based wood stain and top coats and we all decided the perfect project would be a step-by-step on how to stain one of our Surfboard Coat Racks. We sell quite a few of these popular Surfboard Coat Racks and also sell them un-finished.
I use Minwax oil-based stains daily, but this was a first using water-based products. Well, these stains are amazing! Not only are they odorless, easy to clean and quick drying, but these stains come in so many colors – the stains were super easy to work with and the only hard part was choosing my colors! I took step-by-step pictures with directions and Country Living did all the rest!
